Astrology in the Southern Hemisphere Correction and the lost Star Sign of Arachni, the 13th Star Sign
If your born in the southern hemisphere you are most likely following an incorrect star sign and many of you may actually be the sign of Arachni not Leo or Virgo

This is a post on my current status of my astrotheology journey, under the lens of both old ways druidry, witchcraft and The Ogham grove of trees/moon calendar. There will much more to explore for me here especially in the area of drawing up birth charts which is something I really haven't mastered fluently off the bat in my witchcraft training. There it is looming over my soon horizon, to also make corrections and further fine tune acquired learning in symbology related. Now switching the star signs is a pretty controversial topic in astrology circles but where I lean towards the correct comes from some sound rationale. From the chapter 'Astrotheology'
The seasons and living within nature's cycles
as our European ancestors did and as we need to
For starters the seasons are in reverse/mirrored from the north pole to the south/vice versa. The whole point of the seasons is to live with and plan around the cycles of nature to facilitate it not just obtain maximum harvest and enjoyment out of living. The seasons also assist in planning our family's, work and trade as well as the winding down over the winter months for some respite. The most marked of seasons is yule (christian plagiarized as christmas) in december which is actually the 21st not the 25th. But in the south we are hitting the mid summer solstice on the 21st, so why are we bombarded with putting up yule trees, with winter recipes/produce and images of rain and snow? For us European blooded folk it puts us at odds with our ancestors and natural inclinations to live within the seasons. Our Yule is in July, our mid winter and Samhain (commercialized as Halloween) starts on May the 1st marking the beginning of winter & our new year on may the 2nd.
One cannot separate Astrology from our Pagan seasons
Our seasons are intertwined with the stars and astrology, from the Bull and Taurus at Bealtaine to the Sun and Leo at Midsummer. So as the seasons are in opposition from poles to the equator then so is the impact of our stars. As above As below.
True Astrology is also based on place of birth not just time
When one looks at the horoscope in the paper they are seeing their sun signs but not the remainder 12 houses (including arachni) But when the birth chart is done up one sees their ascending sign and so on which describes the personality archeotype much better. Now I live in the southern hemisphere but was born on the rock of Gibraltar in the North. So my sun sign Aries but living in Australia I follow the seasonal dates in the southern hemisphere, with the lunations also in opposition. When the North has a waxing moon the southern moon is waning. But back to place of Birth, how many Aussies think they are a sun Aries when they are sun Libra?
The original calender of our European Folk
There are 13 months and a day in the original calendar which is celtic. When we say Celtic, one must realize this wasnt just an aisle but an entire population of diverse whites all across Europe, pre Roman and christian invasion. What we follow now is a christianized Roman version of a calendar cut into into 12 neat months, approved by the catholic church.
The Celtic Ogham grove of trees bloom and compliment the 13 cycles of the year that eb and tide with the seasons. Whereas the 12 months are in spite of the seasons and tides shoehorned to a one size fits all across the globe. Im sure if they could force us all into a one world time zone in uniformed night and day that they would lol. Each of the Lunation cycles cover 28 days hence why the extra day plus a year. The very lunation shifts coincide with the menstrual cycles of every woman and if she is tune with the moon, nature and its shifts she is in control of her conception mostly without the need of contraceptions. In this I never understood the demonization of the moon or its effects, to do so is to demonize a woman for having a womb and for being a representation of this goddess aspect. We are probably the only species that no longer works with the lunation in general now.
Now back to the Ogham, this calendar of trees was established in the northern hemisphere, in harmony to the 4 main seasons with 4 sub-seasons with the names of the seasons what we now call sabbats which are festive seasonal tides. I have added the gregorian months in order to work with what we forced to use now but Ideally the one could say the 2nd day of the Oak as an example. After All they have managed to not steal our pagan days of the week from Sunsday to Saturnsday. Yes there has been tweaks to deflect the original meanings but some of us still remember the old ways.
