- ☽ ✧ - Δ - ✧ ☾ - A delightful deck for us herbalists, druids and witches of old and definitely one of my staple oracle cards. Especially for when...
... one feels the need to draw upon flora and fauna for inspiration and symbolism from the natural world. Sometimes when these botanicals are in bloom or first show they are stirrings I like to pull up their respective oracle card if there is one to match and to contemplate and work on its use and symbolism (with respect). Another way I like to use this deck is to actually to pick one of the cards that represents one of the Botanicals for the current season for added symbology for my crafting places and or the altar. I have included vlogs I have done as show throughs at the end of this post for viewing these cards also. The third recording/vlog will be published the 2nd of Jan 2018.
This deck comes in a nice sturdy box with drawer but I'm not a fan of white or multicolored borders on my cards Bikini tank gravel comes to mind - Aquarists will know what I mean) so I did end up trimming the white borders away as well as edging the cards in black to protect and seal the cardstocks. A nice gesture of the creators of this deck is the inclusion of three blank cards so one can add three other plants not included in the deck. Myself personally I want to add the Eucalypt (being in Australia) Wormwood and Roses, not necessarily in that order.
Overall I enjoyed the companion book but as bothe druid/witch of the old ways and a priestess that works with the Morrigan, who has seen and was initially guided by Bridey I have a real disdain for what I see as disrespect to old ways. I see modern druids/druidry as blasphemous to borrow the term, when a much beloved goddess Bridey is associated with the middle eastern religion of christ insanity or worse perpetuate a lie of a real druid priestess called Bridey converting to christianity. If there was a such a woman she was not a real druid of the old ways and most definitely not the goddess Bridey herself. It really makes the blood boil and I can tell you now the goddess has completely abandoned these modern druids whether they know it or not.
Brideys daughter the Morrigan (goddess of war) actually stirs with anger at such statements and acts and I feel her' rage in particular. But overall much of the old ways has been carried through in quite a few areas but it just pays to constantly sift out pro abrahamic religious propaganda from the old ways. Abrahamic religion will never be acceptable to the natural world, nature, the goddesses or the energies within for they pin ultimately on the destruction of thus. From the chapter 'the druid plant'

The Flora Fauna included in this Oracle Deck include;
Ethne sighed as she looked at fat bundles of mint, pine needles, elderberries, rose hips and balm hanging from pegs on the wall. There was Mugwort for the cramps and loosestrife and Willowbark for the fever. There was the plant called Terrestrial Sun for the nerves, Yarrow for the stomach, Foxglove and Hawthorn for the heart, and Rue and Hag's tapers for the cough. Long braids of Garlic, useful for everything, swung from overhead along with the most important herbs: Comfrey, Vervain, Figwort and Oak bark for poulticing wounds, the last strips hanging from the mantle.
